Electoral roll and file import
- What it does
- Add voters one by one, or import a CSV, TSV or Excel file: one email address per voter, the name optional.
- When to choose it
- Always: it is the closed list of the people allowed to vote. Importing saves time from a few dozen voters up.
- What it changes
- While in draft, everything can change: add, correct, remove. After that, a registered voter can no longer be edited or removed. You need at least 2 to launch the vote.
In detail
One voter per line, columns in this order: email (required), name (optional), public_key (a voting key you import, optional) and weight (for a weighted vote). A first line naming the columns lets you put them in any order.
The separator is detected automatically, and a CSV or Excel template can be downloaded from the import window. Excel 97–2003 files (.xls) are not supported: save them as .xlsx or CSV first.
Before the import, a preview counts the voters and flags every problem line: missing or invalid email, duplicate, malformed weight. An address already on the roll is never imported twice.
The file is read in your browser: only the voter rows are sent to the platform, never the file itself.
