Condorcet.vote Alpha
About

A French project, born from open source.

Condorcet.Vote is an online voting service created in Paris and hosted in France. It extends more than ten years of open source work on electronic voting, without ever replacing it.

Roots

Designed and hosted in France.

Created in Paris

The service is designed and developed in Paris, by the author of the open source libraries that power it.

Hosted in France

Data and servers are hosted entirely in France, with no dependency on a non-European cloud.

French law & GDPR

The service is published in France, governed by French law and compliant with the GDPR. Our commitments are detailed and verifiable.

Our story

More than ten years in electronic voting.

Condorcet.Vote did not start from a blank page: the service is built on an open source ecosystem patiently developed since 2013.

  1. 2013

    CondorcetPHP

Birth of the open source tallying library: Condorcet methods (Schulze, Ranked Pairs, Copeland…). It would become a reference in the field, and is still actively maintained. With it came CondorcetElectionFormat (CEF), an open standard for describing elections and ballots.

  2. The following years

    A voting ecosystem

Around the library grew a set of tools and web services related, closely or loosely, to electronic voting: as early as 2014, a first version of Condorcet.Vote (a web service demonstration, unrelated to the current platform), then Condorcet Desktop, the offline tallying application.

  3. More recently

    CryptoVote

The cryptographic building block, in Rust and WebAssembly: ring signatures, keys generated in the browser, vote proofs. It is open source, like the rest.

  4. Today

    Condorcet.Vote

The online, freemium service that assembles these building blocks to make secret, verifiable elections accessible to everyone, with no technical skills required.

Who is behind it

A person, not a black box.

Condorcet.Vote is created and developed by Julien Boudry, a Paris-based developer, author and maintainer of CondorcetPHP since 2013. All his work on electronic voting is public: the code, the history, and the contributions can be reviewed by anyone.

Our model

The service does not replace open source.

The open building blocks, CondorcetPHP and CryptoVote, keep living, being maintained, and even growing. They are at the heart of the service: what Condorcet.Vote uses to sign, encrypt, and tally is the very same code that is published in the open.

The commercial service answers different, simplified needs: a ready-to-use platform, hosted and operated, available as freemium, whereas the libraries are aimed at developers and integrators. The two complement each other rather than compete.
